Why? Simple, we as a society demand the best products for the lowest prices and building it somewhere else is cheaper than building it here. Foreign made does not always mean lower quality, there are many quality products produced by highly skilled craftsmen in countries where their labor costs and cost of materials are just less expensive and that makes the products we buy less expensive.
